Maahad Shamsil Maarifil Islamiyyah

Shamsil Maarifil Isamiyyah Madrasa was established in Majengo Street on 10/04/2000 by its former leader at that time, Al-Marhum Al-Aalim Allamah Sheikh Muhamadi ibn Aboubakry Al-Burhaan, may Allah have mercy on him, collaborating with his students led by Sheikh Samir bin Sadick Hemedi, who was his deputy supported by the Muslims of the Majengo area as well as Muslims from different areas, men and women.

The Institute of Maahad Shamsil Maarifa Islamiyyah officially started its work to teach Islamic religious education since 10/04/2000 before being registered as an official institution in the area of ​​Majengo.

This madrasa was officially registered as a full institution under the name "The Registered Trustees Shamsili Maarifu". His registration number is 2072.

Currently this institution is located in Magomeni B street, Duga ward, Pongwe division, Tanga city, Tanzania. The institute currently has eight (8) classrooms in use; however, there are Muslims committed to building (10) classrooms that are in the final stage of completion. If they are completed, the institution will have eighteen (18) classrooms due to the number of thirty-nine (939) students present. With an average of forty (40) students in each classroom, we have a gap of six (6) classrooms. That is what the institution needs now.

Also, this institution manages its at least one hundred (100) branches located in various locations, thus leading the number of students, those at the headquarters and branches, to at least eight thousand (8000) students.
